The Vision
An explainer that spends its first act on the manual version of the task, timer running, so the alternative arrives as relief rather than as a claim.
The Hurdle
Explainers default to the feature list. A viewer arrives carrying a task they resent, and capability answers nothing until that has been named.
The Impact
An explainer that argues from the viewer's calendar rather than the company's roadmap, understood in a single pass.

The Decision
We put a clock on the old way and let it run.
The film spends its first act on the manual version — the browsing, the reading, the writing — with the timer visible the whole way. By the time it reaches the alternative, the argument has already been made by arithmetic rather than by claim.
The hand-drawn passages are deliberate. A polished interface would have looked like every other product film; a sketch reads as someone thinking on paper, which is the register a viewer trusts when they are being asked to change how they work.
Why It Mattered
A product is bought at the moment someone recognises their own week in it. Feature-led films ask for belief before that recognition has happened, which is why they are watched politely and forgotten. Leading with the cost of the current habit means the product arrives as relief rather than as a proposition, and relief is a far shorter path to a decision.
